Why The Northeast?

NOW OR NEVER is being produced based on results from the Northeast Climate Impacts Assessment, a recently released study by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) that evaluates the ways in which global warming will transform our entire region, from the mountains to the coast, forests to cities, into a place barely recognizable as the Northeast we know today.

The nine Northeastern states represent the seventh-largest source of carbon dioxide emissions in the world, greater than Canada and many European nations. Yet we are also among the leaders in addressing the crisis through regional and statewide policy initiatives, technological invention, institutional and municipal innovation, as well as individual and community crusades.

NOW OR NEVER is an integrated media program about climate change impacts and solutions that will help catalyze the change necessary to stabilize and sustain the Northeastern United States.
